The Authors

“doitbetter.info” is a business collective blog for entrepreneurs, purchasing managers, buyers, private equity and venture capital managers who are interested in Italian SME’s. It was founded in 2014 by Roberto Ceccarelli and Massimo Morici.


 

Roberto is a business journalist with a focus on the food & wine sector. He worked freelance for many Italian newspapers and magazines such as Italia Oggi, Gdo Week, Il Resto del Carlino. Roberto graduated in Political Science from the University of Macerata where he has worked as a professor’s assistant teaching economics and social statistics. He has 15 years’ experience in PR and marketing, working across many different industry sectors.

Massimo is a business journalist with a focus on finance, product innovations, technology. He currently works as an editor for the newsmagazine ADVISOR and for the sister website AdvisorOnline.it (asset management). He also works as contributor for Panorama.it. He has worked for Panorama Economy, Platts and Il Messaggero. Massimo graduated in Philosophy from the University of Bologna. He was named Journalist of the Year at the State Street Institutional Press Awards 2015 Italy – category Asset Management.

Before moving back to Italy, Alessandro worked for six years as senior research analyst for The Financial Times newspaper. He currently works as a research consultant and freelance translator. Alessandro graduated in Business Studies with a First Class Honours Degree at the “London South Bank University” in England.

Coleman Kendall (contributor, economist)

Coleman was born in New York City, while his family’s roots are in Eastern Europe. His father lived in Milan for several years before coming to the USA. Coleman studied economics and Latin at Swarthmore College, including six months in Rome. He has an MBA in International Finance from the University of Chicago. He worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and taught at several US universities. Today he is Chief Economist for Marshfield Associates, a Washington DC based money manager, and consults to clients in Italy and Switzerland with Understanding the Market LLC.

Lorenzo Giacani (research consultant; contributor)

Lorenzo lives and works in the United States as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Global Health at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he moved to in 2002. He holds a bachelor in science in molecular biology and a doctorate in medical biotechnology both from the University of Bologna. Currently he also serves as the chair of the Seattle chapter of the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation.

Marco currently works as Head of Marketing at Epic, a private investment  company. He started his career in media advertising (Saatchi & Saatchi, In Adv/DGT Media). He then moved to the financial sector to take on the position of Head of Communications and Customer Services for a number of  investment and retail banks namely: TradingLab, UniCredit Banca and Banca di Roma. He worked as Head of Marketing Private Investor Products Italy at RBS.
