The Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani Automobili S.p.A. is launching a new car model in September 2015 and it will only be sold to twenty customers who already own a Pagani supercar.

The announcement came directly from Horacio Pagani, founder and Chief Designer at Pagani Automobili. Mr. Pagani has recently received the “Ciliegia d’Oro” Award, a lifetime achievement award that Italian brand Toschi grants to prominent personalities. In the past this award was also given to celebrities like the opera singer Luciano Pavarotti and to Enzo Ferrari, founder of car manufacturer Ferrari.

Over the course of this year, the company, led by Horacio Pagani will complete the production of a hundred units of the “Huayra” car model. Following this, the supercar manufacturer is going to focus on the new version of the “open-top” Huayra Roadster. Once again, production of this car model will also be limited to a hundred units. The “open-top” version will be unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in spring, 2016.

The Huayra Roadster will be built at the new Pagani plant, which is currently under construction and it is located only 200 metres away from the existing plant. Completion of the new plant is expected in September 2015.

With the addition of the new plant, Pagani’s production capacity will double but “the business strategy of the company – said Horacio Pagani to Doitbetter.info – is to maintain the high level of exclusivity of our supercars hence, producing only forty-five units per year. To date, based on the orders we have received, the company is already fully committed for the next two years”.

From 2014 to 2015 the “manufacturer’s suggested retail price” (MSRP) rose by 5 per cent and turnover is forecast to increase by 50 per cent (2015 vs 2014). The company is also investing in new technology and it has recently increased its production workforce to 105 employees.

The company was founded in 1993 by Horacio Pagani, and it is based in San Cesario sul Panaro, near Modena, Italy.

The philosophy behind the company’s success comes from the Renaissance and is beautifully outlined by Leonardo da Vinci when he stated that: “Art and Science are disciplines that need to walk alongside one another”.

Horacio Pagani, who formerly managed Lamborghini’s composites division, worked for Lamborghini from 1984 to 1992. In the late 1980s Horacio Pagani began designing his own car, then referred to as the “C8 Project”. Horacio Pagani planned to name the C8 the “Fangio F1” to honour his friend and mentor, the five-time Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio.
