NAU! is an Italian company specialising in eye-wear manufacturing. The company is based near Varese, near Milan, Northern Italy. On 24 February NAU! posted a turnover increase of 26 per cent, from €19m in 2014 to €24m in 2015, net sales grew by 27 per cent.
The big boost to growth was thanks to the opening of five new stores in Italy and one abroad in the last quarter of 2015, taking the total number of NAU! stores to 96.
Last year the company opened 19 new stores in Italy alone, which are mainly located in shopping centres in most major Italian cities and in the major international airports such as: Milan Malpensa, Linate, Bergamo, Bari and Turin and in main train stations such as Florence Santa Maria Novella.
NAU! has been focussing on environmentally friendly products. In fact, the company sells glasses made using recycled plastic whilst complying to strict International standards such as UNI EN ISO 14001.
NAU! was one of the first eye-wear manufacturers in the optical industry to obtain this prestigious certification.
Fabrizio Brogi, Chairman of NAU! said:
“The excellent financial results in 2015 confirm the sound business decisions taken so far. The outlook for 2016? The focus will be on increasing growth, opening new stores in Italy and abroad and investing in human resources and training. Furthermore, creative sharing will be encouraged to design and develop new lines of eye-wear with a low environmental impact”.
In January 2016 the company opened its second store in India, in the prestigious Ambience Mall in New Delhi, the very first shop being in the MGF Metropolitan Mall in New Delhi.
Brogi, chariman of NAU! added:
“We were very pleased with the opening of the first shop in India, so much so that having seen the positive customer response together with the healthy financial results we decided to open a second store in the space of a few months.”
In 2015 NAU! also opened its first mono-branded shop in Barcelona, Spain, in the shopping centre “Anec Blau”.
