Enertronica is a small Italian company operating in the field of renewable energy, energy  saving and in the design and manufacture of electro – mechanical systems.  On February 24, Enertronica announced that it had won the bidding for the design and construction of an innovative battery energy storage photovoltaic plant in Eritrea.

 

The contract value is about €7m and it strengthens Enertronica’s position in the Eritrean energy market . The plant was commissioned directly by the Eritrean government and will be funded by the European Union, according to a company statement.

 

The company is based in Frosinone, near Rome. It operates mainly in two industries namely: photovoltaic and lighting. Revenues in the first half of 2014 increased to €4.4m compared to €2m for the same period the previous year. Stefano Plocco, CEO of Enertronica, said:

 

“This contract shows that Enertronica is meeting the demand of international markets. This is the second contract that has been awarded to Enertronica  in Eritrea, enabling Enertronica to open a new office in Eritrea in order to strengthen its presence in Central Africa”.
